Saddened to hear only now of the death of the Nicholas B. Scheetz, former Manuscripts Librarian at Georgetown University, who passed away on 29 October, 2016. He helped to build the core of the Special Collections in the Georgetown Archives (which contain substantial material of David Jones) and was a dear friend and benefactor of the American David Jones Society. Attached is a photo of an obituary notice in the Georgetown newsletter.

Mr. Sheetz was a generous and genial host to those who used his collection, showing the same solicitude for a young graduate student's research needs as he would for a seasoned scholar's. Thank you for informing us of this sad news for all who benefited from his stewardship. Leave a Reply. |
